Lighthouse of Hope

on

Nature run’s its own course and no one can stand in its way.

In current times, we are witnessing the suffering and sorrow of souls across the globe – from east to west, north to south cries of sorrow and distress can be heard.

The seemingly ‘powerful’ race of humankind stands helpless, watching, as so much is being destroyed. No amount of money, influence or technology can heal the pain that is being experienced.

At this time, whilst we watch the scenes of nature unfold, what can we do?

Like lighthouses, we can stand tall, still and silent for a moment. From deep within our hearts and minds, we can generate and emanate thoughts of pure feelings and good wishes in one single focused moment. The power of that spiritual light will surely reach and touch souls everywhere and once again ignite hope in their hearts.

Impressed by Impressions

waste_thoughts

Did you know that within the first 10 seconds of meeting someone we subconsciously create an impression about them? An impression based on what they look like, how they talk and even the space between their eyes! But most of all on the way they make us feel.

We create an impression and then our communication and behaviour that follows will be based on that impression. Everything they do or say will also continue to justify our theory and reaffirm our impression.

We put up our defences, based on impressions, and then work from that standpoint. We create false walls of illusion based on our so called ‘experience’. It is no wonder that we have such challenges in our relationships and such disorder in our society.

Don’t become impressed by impressions … take a fresh look!

A Step of Fear

fear_thoughts

What is fear? Does it really exist or is it just an illusion?

Fear in fact is a feeling and feelings are created with our minds. We project thoughts from the past and hearsay into the present situation giving rise to doubt and concern. The quality of thoughts in turn creates what we call FEAR.

The feeling of fear can be crippling. Not only is my behaviour affected but it generates stress in my mental and emotional state of being.

If I can stop the flow of such thoughts for a moment and step inside, away from the influence of past experiences and all the external facts that seems to fuel fear, then I will arrive in a safe space. A space that is real and stable. The more I remain in this space the more I will be able to connect with ‘reality’ as opposed to the ‘illusion’ that is generated through influence.

To stay in this space and sustain the self from here will help be remove fear totally.

Fear is crippling , step away from fear.

Good Intentions

good_intentions

Everything begins with good intentions – what we say, what we do etc.

The thinking that follows is a by-product of intention. However my thoughts are also coloured by my past experiences and future desires and so the thinking, and thus the intention, becomes influenced.

‘If my intention is for them to be happy then why are my thoughts, feelings and actions not demonstrating that when they decide to go against what I would like them to do?’

It takes great humility to step back and to see what is happening, and then to allow myself the time and space to reconnect with the roots of my intention. The moment I do that I will free myself of the burden of fulfilling the intention.

Sustaining a connection with ourselves is what is required for us to remain true and pure in our feelings and intentions.

Perspectives

Perspective

In every scene we face in life, we take a standpoint, a perspective. We may not always be aware of it but what and how we see things will be coloured by that perspective. It may be the influence of the role I am playing, my relationships, or my desire for a particular outcome.

When we stop challenging our perception it stops us from being able to offer something new to a situation.

We forget our own impact on a situation.

We need to examine the basis of our perspective so that we can be objective, and offer a detached insight or a solution to a situation. The moment I change – my perception, my attitude – that is the most powerful shifts in a situation.

Sit in a space of peace allowing the mind and body to relax and allow the peace inside to quietly emerge and offer a new perspective .

Guilty!

guiltyWe often see or hear things that colour our vision of and beliefs about people.

Even if we are unaware of the circumstances, instead of seeing them as ‘innocent until proven guilty’ we automatically feel they must be guilty because our thoughts, feelings, word and actions are influenced by a belief already imprinted in our subconscious. So the way we see, hear or think about someone is coloured by that impression.

Whether they are guilty or not will make no real difference to me as a person. However this habit of holding on to negative impressions about people makes us the ones who support and empower those negative traits within our own personality. If I dislike someone then I am the one that experiences the negative feelings of ‘dislike’ within myself. We become the ones that experience the negative emotions and feelings that they generate.

So who is ‘guilty’ and who is paying the price?

Past is Past

past-is-past

‘Let the past be the past’. We have heard this saying a million times but we continue to hold onto the past in our hearts and minds. Subconsciously we may believe it is valuable experience for our future. However recalling negative experiences from the past in this way has become an unwanted and damaging habit.

By bringing the past into the present we become influenced by it. Then, instead of resolving the past we build on it. Instead of recognising the mistakes we made, so as to avoid doing the same again, we fill our minds with the mistakes others made and respond based on that. In this way we carry the past into our present, and so into our future.

If we mix the past into the present, then this becomes the key that locks the intellect. It disables our ability to discern clearly, without influence.
We need to finish the past in the present moment by stepping back from the scene as soon as it happens. If within a moment we become detached then we free ourselves from influence and we will be able see the scene from a different perspective. This will allow us to then respond from a fresh and new space.

Have the power to let go and move on.
