Still and Silent

the_one

I take a moment and become still.

I allow each part of my body to slowly relax and as I do that the body responds and becomes very still.

I gently listen to my breath as I inhale and exhale – my breathing becomes slow and deep…

Moving my focus inward, I watch the pattern of my thoughts which have slowed down.

I become aware of there being a distinct stillness within.

Still…..

From within this stillness I am drawn to a very gentle silence that is held within the inner ear.
I listen to this silence and as I do so I become absorbed in this eternal sound of silence.

I stand still in time and within this eternal sound of silence I just ‘am’ …..

My Authentic Self

consciousness

Let me take a moment to stop. Stop physical activity, stop the thoughts in my mind and the feelings in my heart.

Having stopped let me now take a step inwards into that space that is at the very core of my being. That sacred space where I am alone with my conscience …my authentic self.

What is the authentic self – Is it my name, my role, my position or possessions? When I become focused in this space, detached from activity, thoughts and feelings, I realise that I am none of these.

My authentic and real self is the in-visible spirit within this body. Authentic is that which is original and always. That which is today and will be tomorrow. Let me take a moment to see, understand and experience the authentic self.

Everything in life changes, even my own personality and so what is authentic within the self?

What is the Answer?

Wreasonshen challenges present themselves in our lives, often our immediate response is to analyse and find a solution – what is the answer?
What happened? Why? Where? When? How? In desperation for an answer we allow our mind to go into overdrive – thinking, re-thinking – over-thinking!

If I can take a moment to stop the torrent of these thoughts and turn inwards to see what is going on within perhaps I will begin to understand what is happening.

Instead of asking ‘why the situation?’, I ask myself ‘why is it so challenging? Perhaps rather than looking outside for the answers, I look within and unravel what is going on there, then I will begin to find answers that hold the deepest secrets about me and the answers that can transform my life.

Ask the right questions and surely the right answers will follow.

The Guide

home

God is my guide, the One that teaches, protects and shows me the way.

He is the One that holds the three aspects of time in His awareness and so knows my past, present and future.

When I turn inwards I listen to the voice within…who is speaking and to whom?
Do I spend time listening to the voice of God as he teaches me and guides me through each day or have I become too busy just listening to myself, my own inner voice that is overflowing with talk of my desires and my sorrows?

Does God have a place in that space within so that He is a part of my inner world? Can I hear the voice of God in amongst all the other noise that is going on?

If I open my inner ear to hear the voice of God then I will realise that He is ever present guarding and guiding me. He is always every ready to help at every moment. It is I that has no time or gives no importance to listen.
